The problem.

The UK and Ireland Starwood Hotels Group tasked their various print suppliers to help them improve brand control, reduce print costs, reduce waste and reduce the amount of time their team spent on production and administration tasks, allowing them to spend more time focussing on brand strategy, customer insight, creative imagination and brilliant ideas.

The SBS proposition was the chosen solution.

How we helped.

We implemented a dedicated hotels team and carried out a series of discovery sessions and audits so we fully understood their exact needs. From this, we designed a proposed service offering, with clear targets and SLAs, that was fine-tuned and agreed with all Starwood stakeholders to ensure the solution matched their needs. We also rationalised the printed collateral where possible standardising substrates, sizes, finishes and run lengths with a mixture of bulk print/call-off and bespoke print on demand, saving over 25% on print costs.

 We also implemented a bespoke Starwood on-line portal with intelligent business rules, pre-agreed order and spend limits, pre-agreed authority levels and approval process, pre-agreed matrix pricing and fully automated real time acknowledgments and reporting. This allowed simple and easy local ordering of all printed collateral, either stock print or dynamic templates to create on-brand print-ready PDF’s for print on demand, as well as central brand control, visibility and cost control.

 Ultimately this gave back the Starwood team their most precious commodity, time, as well as brand control, cost reductions/control and total visibility with a suite of real-time approvals and reporting.
